Lucy Linus Shao has been an advocacy and engagement officer at HakiRasilimali since 2020. She is a performance-driven professional with 5 years of experience working in various research, Policy Analysis, Advocacy, engagement, communication and campaign on mining, oil and gas governance, to mention a few! Her emotional intelligence, perseverance and creativity are outstanding.

From 2018 to date, she has led, designed and coordinated engagement with governments, corporates, ASM operators, and Parliament and host communities in the extractive sector. A content creator for social and mainstream media campaigns, including but not limited to writing and publishing analytical pieces, feature articles and blog stories related to the Mining, Oil and Gas sector. In 2022, she wrote and published a feature article titled “Critical Minerals and Energy Transition in Tanzania: A new dance, Maybe?”

Lucy believes that persuasion and analytical skills are not only fundamental to policy advocacy. They are also fundamental to critical thinking and creating synergies in the entire public policy circle. She holds a Political Science and Public Administration degree from the University of Dar es Salaam and is highly skilled in Research and Public Policy.
